Description
Kanakanayaki, along with other innocent civilians, was killed in the illegal attack by the Sri Lankan military in Anandaphuram. The attack was carried out using outlawed chemical weapons. Since September 2008, the Sri Lankan government has banned all independent observers, humanitarian workers including the UN and the media from accessing the battlefield (Vanni) and has systematically isolated the battlefield (Vanni) from the outside world and waged a genocidal war without any witness.
