Description
She died in a shell attack by the army during her relocation to Puthukudiruppu, Iranaipalai.

In the early days of the final phase of the war, tens of thousands of people were displaced from their native places to different areas.  During the relocation, they faced problems with their basic needs such as food and drink, clothing and shelter.  Fear of security in particular was also a major issue. They set up bunkers to shelter themselves during the attacks.  However, the Sri Lankan military carried out continuous inhumane bombings on schools, temples, churches, hospitals and bunkers where civilians were staying, resulting in countless deaths. During the cluster bomb attacks in Ranaippalai, those that had not exploded upon impact were left dispersed in and around the area. The colourful ribbons on the bomblets caught the eyes of young children.   When touched, triggered by even that slightest movement, they exploded, killing and maiming some.
