Mrs Kathirasippillai Kandaiah was born in Chavakkachcheri, Jaffna and lived in Vaddakadchchi, Kilinochchi. While the civil war was at its peak, she was in the safety zone, which was declared as safe for civilians. This was declared by the Sri Lankan government. But Kathirasippillai Kandaiah was killed by a bombardment through the Sri Lankan military on the 02.02.2009.
